We say “Yes!” to green electricity

As part of our TFGreen strategy, alongside our external activities, we have also anchored internal measures at the core of our ecological actions. This means that every TFG colleague makes an important contribution to our environmentally friendly company on a daily basis. We take our social responsibility seriously and would like to do even more.

That's why we are gradually converting the electricity at our 12 sites completely to green power. Berlin and Leipzig are the pioneers - the switchover has already been completed here. In doing so, we are actively demonstrating how we can protect the environment and consciously rejecting coal and nuclear power. This reduces the share of fossil fuels in our power mix and leads to significantly lower carbon emissions.

We are also going green with our traction current. Energy from renewable sources currently makes up 61% of DB’s traction current mix (as of 2020). By 2030, the figure will stand at 80%, and from 2038 onward Deutsche Bahn will have switched completely to green electricity. The stations are converting to green electricity at the same time.
